Come check out the CBM studio and learn more about the process.

First of all, congratulations on your new little blessing, I am so excited for you on this new journey. Having a new human in your home causes enormous changes. One of the biggest changes is your schedule. Your schedule is no longer completely controlled by you. It is now controlled predominantly by your adorable new addition. Those first few weeks of being a new parent are a blur for most people. However, it is important for you to understand how much your baby changes in those first few weeks of life. During that first week or two babies are still extremely sleepy and more cooperative for a photography session. They are more easily posed and less likely to stretch out once they are curled up. In the second week newborns start to wake up a little more and are often hungrier than they had been the week prior. After 21 days, most babies are more alert and more resistant to posing which causes them to become a bit more challenging to photograph (though it certainly can still be done). So, it is important that you contact me as soon as possible post-delivery so we can schedule your session in those first two to three weeks.

What To Do: Show up. Sessions are at my studio in Porterville, 639 n main.

What To Bring:  Please bring a pacifier for your baby even if they have not used one. If you'd prefer, I can try not to use them as much but a pacifier makes a big difference in how the session will turn out.  When using a pacifier it generally takes me less time to get through sessions. A session where a baby is not permitted a pacifier often takes over 3 hours and I don’t usually get many setups to pose baby in. I do have water available in my studio, but feel free to bring yourself a snack. Sessions can sometimes take up to 3 hours and you will most likely get hungry. Do not hesitate to bring snacks and eat in the studio.

What To Wear: I will provide bonnets, headbands, and wraps for newborn babies. I will also do some naked poses of baby covering any private areas, clothes tends to cover up all those adorable tiny new human features we want to capture before they grow bigger. If mom or dad would like to be included in the session, I suggest wearing solid neutral colored shirts.

Siblings: If you have older children you would like to include in the session, I suggest solid neutrals. I would also suggest you bring something they can entertain themselves with while your newborn baby has his/her session. I also have a TV in the studio in front of the couch you are welcome to use. I have Netflix, youtube and Hulu available.

DURING YOUR NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION

Temperature: During the naked poses of baby the temperature of my studio will be very warm (80+ degrees). We want the baby to feel relaxed and comfortable and want the temperature to be as close as it was when baby was in moms belly. When the baby is being wrapped the heater will get turned off. Keep this information in mind on deciding what you will be wearing to the studio.

Studio Lighting: I use studio lighting for all studio sessions so I can produce higher quality images for you.

****It is important for you to know that baby will cry during session, simply because of the transitioning of poses. Please be aware that I would never hurt your baby and their safety is my top priority. Sometimes babies will pee or poop during the sessions and that's okay! All props and items used are washed and or sanitized after each use.

Health & Safety

Your newborns health and safety is top priority, the studio and all props are cleaned and sanitized before and after each session. Anyone that is sick is asked to reschedule.
